BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
"Inspire healing through words."
TM
RECOMMEND A BOOK
Have you read any "healing" books lately?
Healing books force you pause after every few pages to reflect and allow the messages to sink in. The author's words, what the characters experience, the setting, the themes...everything about the narrative speaks to you. You feel better about life after you finish the book, and the change is lasting.
The words touch your soul.
If you've experienced bibliotherapy (healing through books), please share your great-book findings with us. We will share your recommendations with counselors, librarians, educators and other professionals to help their clients find imaginative literature to which they can relate. We will also add your suggestions to our website to encourage people with exceptional struggles to heal, through the words of others.
GUIDELINES:
We are currently seeking suggestions for books which fit the following criteria:
1.) Fiction books (made-up stories, including books of poetry) and biographies (narratives about people's lives, written by themselves or others). We love sharing stories that give hope!
2.) Books which feature people or subjects related to people who do not usually see themselves featured positively in books or mainstream media.
3.) Non-fiction books that can help someone make a better informed decision about a problem or diagnosis.
Please note:
Our volunteer reviewers screen each recommended title. Suggestions may not appear on all of our published lists. We may include your statements about the book in our publications (print and online), but we will never associate your information with the recommendation.
